Brightwater Engineering has a professional in-house team of project and construction managers capable of delivering projects ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars to multimillion dollar contracts. The largest contract undertaken by Brightwater Engineering to date was over $100 million dollars.

The in-house design group encompasses a diverse range of experiences and engineering disciplines within our professional and technical design teams. These teams regularly undertake Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies as well as fully detailed engineering design, including comprehensive workshop drawings. The latest in Computer Assisted Design software is used including Autodesk Inventor 3D, SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.

The electrical and automation team are specialists in providing customised professional solutions and services. This capability includes resources experienced in the engineering, design and commissioning of all industrial electrical and control systems from High Voltagepower to Low Voltage controls.

With high level capability in automation, visualisation and supervisory control [PLC & SCADA] in conjunction with the development of Process and Instrument Design [P & ID] the team are able to integrate operational data into both execution and management systems. This leads to the team having a strong commissioning and problem solving capability.

Mechanical Engineering in respect to industrial installations has been Brightwater’s core business for over 20 years. The common thread of specialty through our noted core business sectors has been bulk materials handling, an area in which we excel with a reputation for quality and successful project delivery second to none.

Our team of highly experienced professional engineers provide services including consultancy, feasibility studies, engineering and design, and high level project management. These services can provide clients with a specialist engineering resource for a particular project, a team to address and manage one off projects or to provide additional capability to complement an existing in-house engineering team.

Brightwater’s team includes a large pool of professional Project Managers, Project Engineers, Cost Engineers and Planners. This team offers full Project Management services to international standards, utilising software systems such as Candy, P6 and JobPac as well as the high level of experience and diversity of the professional engineers within the team. Our Project Managers have qualifications under either PMI or Prince 2 standards.

To support our professional engineers and project teams, Brightwater carries a large number of specialist commissioning engineers and technicians. They are highly experienced in trouble shooting faults and dealing with the complex issues of mechanical and electrical automation interface encountered on the large scale industrial projects we undertake. This rare breed of specialist have more often than not come from successful industrial production backgrounds where they have honed their intuitive and analytical skills over years of plant optimisation and fault finding.

Our Quality Management System (QMS) is fully integrated throughout the Group utilising our Intranet system. The overall QMS is a living tool that is part of the company culture and day to day activity throughout all facets of Brightwater operations. The system is audited by a certified third party using the standards of ISO 9001 and is also regularly audited internally using interdivisional resource with a higher level of scrutiny and interrogation than the third party audits.

The Engineering workshop located at Brightwater near Nelson New Zealand is a large scale facility with a reputation for quality second to none. The facility is capable of serving the needs of our largest projects and also provides services directly to industry throughout Australasia. The workshop includes state of the art CNC machines large enough for specialist multiple unit production beyond the scope of capacity and competitiveness of more traditional engineering shops.

Brightwater carries a large range of modern cranes, specialist and heavy handling equipment required to support its project construction activities.
